The Bay

This painting was a homage to a dear friend, who happens to be a sailing champion. The sound of the ocean and the sun shining are hugely soothing to me. I tried to give justice to the absolute beauty of the scene in my mind. The acrylic marine blue and green hues, with a hint of white to show the faint clouds. I used palette knife gestures and straight lines to create the sail boats and I decided metallic gold was the only way to depict the sun bouncing on the waves.
